The String Quartet was written in the summer of 2011.   It is in one movement, divided into three sections.  All the compositional material comes from the first measure.  That material is immediately repeated but in a transformed state, and, in the first section those two ideaas are played off one another.  The second second section is a lyrical slow movement, while the last section is a scherzo-like finale.
