Sybil Dances

for two harps

Sybil was one of the great loves of my life.  She was a beautiful blond with an enormous sense of humor, good at solving puzzles, and ruled whatever situation whe was in.  I adored her.  I was with her the last weeks of her life which we spent curled up together on the couch, warmly embracing.  She waited until her entire family was assembled before her death, a death of great dignity.  I miss her to this day.  Incidentally, she was a Yorkshire Terrier.  Even now, decades later, those who met her remember her fondly.

Sybil produced huge litters for a Yorkie--her first litter was seven females and two males.  All in all, she whelped thirty-two pups, all of whom survived.

I learned a great deal about life and about death from this exceptional creature.

Sybil Dances was written to honor this most wonderful friend.
